River Vault Features All-American Maggie

Maggie will join the festivities at the 5th Annual River Vault in La Crosse, Wis.

Fireworks will be flying high this Friday, the 4th of July, and so will pole-vaulters at the 5th Annual River Vault competition in La Crosse, Wisconsin.Joining in the patriotic celebration will be All-American Maggie Steele, storybook heroine of the inspiring novel, Maggie Vaults Over the Moon.

The event will be held from 11 am until 6 pm at Riverside Park on the bank of the Mississippi River.

"Maggie has been all over the country and the world, but she's never been to Wisconsin, which is a hotbed for pole-vaulting up north," said author Grant Overstake. "Riverside Park is one of the most beautiful places in the world to pole-vault. And, it being July 4th, it will be an unforgettable experience!"

Award-winning voice actress Tavia Gilbert is will narrate 'Maggie Vaults Over the Moon' on Audiobook.

Some 50 athletes have registered for the event, from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, and even Hawaii! They'll be cheered by crowd of spectators lining the riverfront. Vaulters will compete in 10 divisions, and winners will receive a copy of Maggie as one of their prizes.Maggie Vaults Over the Moon is the story of a gutsy and wholesome farm girl who overcomes tragedy and soars to new heights as a pole-vaulter.The young adult novel has been endorsed by US Olympic vaulters, coaches and other key people in the sport for its positive message, including River Vault Coordinator and Founder, Jeremiah Burish.

"I read Maggie and thought that it would be an awesome addition to the 5th Annual River Vault," Burish said. "It is a great story about adversity and overcoming obstacles. I believe everyone can relate to this book as we have all had some sort of barriers to overcome as athletes, students, or in life."
